Sherwood Park to Lloydminster

Heading east through Elk Island National Park
Well off we go!! ... but it's WINTER

If it looks like winter, and it feels like winter, it probably is WINTER.

Our first stop ... the Elk Point Dental Centre

We started coming here in 1987 - while the dentist changes often - the dental hygienist and the receptionist have been with us throughout.

Not the usual vacation activity?

On the way, we passed through Tulliby Lake, where we were from 1987 to 1989.  I was the principal/teacher and Dorothy taught the grade 4 - 6 class.  It was a lot of work but we have many happy memories.  Dorothy, coming from Kingston, ON (pop. 110,000) had to adjust to Tulliby Lake (pop. 29 after we arrived) where the main topics were cattle ranching and rodeo (neither a big topic in Kingston).  For, me though, more than half the students were children of students I had taught in my first two years of teaching 20 years earlier in nearby Dewberry and Marwayne.

In Lloydminster, we enjoyed a great dinner at Mr. Bill's Restaurant with our friends Barb and Erma.  We had an early Christmas exchange and departed with many good wishes.  Thanks for friends.
